Cody Rhodes Says Brock Lesnar Fits With The Direction WWE Is Going In Terms Of Sports Meeting Entertainment

Brock Lesnar returned at WWE SummerSlam, his first appearance in two years since SummerSlam 2023.
Lesnar came out at the end of the show, delivering a F5 to John Cena, who had just lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes.
Speaking on ESPN, Rhodes was asked about Brock’s return.
“Brock, in terms of athleticism, one of the things — we held tryouts going into SummerSlam weekend and you have so many NIL athletes and so many people coming from the world of sport. Tiffany Stratton is a great example, someone on our roster now who came from the world of sport and has grown into becoming a professional wrestler and part of sports entertainment. Brock is somebody who is a NCAA Champion, UFC Heavyweight Champion, he fits right in with the direction that WWE is going in terms of sport meeting entertainment,” said Rhodes.
Rhodes noted that he was the last man to defeat Lesnar.
In January 2024, Lesnar was implicated in a lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon and WWE, accusing McMahon of sex trafficking and sexual assault. In her amended lawsuit in February 2025, Lesnar was outright named. He is not a defendant in the lawsuit.
