On January 25th, Jey Uso would once again challenge for a world title, as he took on The Ring General, Gunther in singles action with the World Heavyweight Championship coming up short. Despite a series of close calls, Gunther would eventually put Uso down for a three count with a pair of his signature powerbombs.

Following Saturday Night’s Main Event going off the air, Cody Rhodes would head to the ring and would cut a promo praising Jey Uso, echoing Michael Cole’s statement on commentary that Jey Uso’s day will come. Rhodes also told Jey he was a champion to him and the people in the crowd before Yeeting with Uso. Comedian, Fluffy, also joined in.
