Cody Rhodes Jokes That He’d Tried To Get Himself Canceled If He Ever Turns Heel

Cody Rhodes continues to joke about a potential heel turn.
‘The American Nightmare’ has been a babyface for well over six years at this point, leading some fans to believe that he’ll be a good guy for the remainder of his career. Meanwhile, other fans are still pushing for Rhodes to turn heel, often bringing up the quality of his run as a bad guy in Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Appearing on Thursday’s episode of First Take, Rhodes was once again asked about a possible heel turn, allowing him to explain what his version of a heel would look like.
“I always like to say in what we do, never say never. The more you’re in this, it’s probably really likely but I think my version of a heel is just way too — I don’t know. I wouldn’t have music, the song would go away, the entrance would go away, I’d try to get myself canceled. I don’t know if it would even translate. Never say never, but I don’t see it happening anytime soon.”
Earlier this week, Rhodes stated that he felt disrespected in AEW. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
