Cody On Seth Rollins' "Minor League" Comment: Part Of Wrestling Is Us Talking Sh*t To Each Other

Cody weighs in on Seth Rollins' comments.

Seth Rollins made headlines at the end of October when he took a shot at AEW, calling the promotion the "minor leagues" when asked about a potential match with Kenny Omega. Rollins said the comment in jest and in response to Omega's previous comments calling NXT "developmental talent." Rollins' comment upset many, including Jim Ross, who went off on Rollins for "not doing the business any favors."

Appearing on Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, AEW co-executive vice president Cody Rhodes gave his thoughts on Rollins' comments.

"The 'developmental' comments, when they came from Kenny. And the 'minor league' comments, when they came from Seth. I think that's just two really great athletes trying to prod and poke and get under the skin of another. I don't think they were as mean spirited as the world made them out to be. I think Seth is super talented. He works his ass off for them when a lot of people at that company just collect a check. I sit back in those moments and don't take it personally. Part of wrestling is us talking shit about each other," he said.

Cody has taken his fair share of shots at WWE and various talent both in interviews and on-screen in AEW, most notably the smashing of a Triple H-like throne at AEW Double or Nothing.
