Cody Would Like To See AEW Dynamite Off Wednesdays Within Five Years, Would Be Confident On Mondays

Since AEW and NXT have gone head to head nearly each week beginning in October 2019, AEW has come out on top in terms of viewership all but two weeks. With AEW having much success against NXT, AEW Co-Executive Vice President Cody would be confident if Dynamite were to move days and compete against a different WWE brand.

Appearing on 11Alive, Cody was asked where he sees AEW in five years.

Cruz Del Toro Reveals He's Undergone Successful Surgery Following An Injury

"I would like the company, in five years, to be on a different night and competing in the same fashion they are. Not that I don't love Wednesday nights, but I can tell we have real players and I look at this data. We're not lying about the revolution anymore. It's very supported. I would love to see how it does on another night of the week."

He continued, "In five years, who knows. If we had a random storm situation or something popped up and we had to put Dynamite on a Monday night, if that was to happen in this current threshold, I'd still be very confident in what we can do. And I'd be confident that our guys would be up for the challenge."

AEW and TNT reached an extension for Dynamite that will see the program air on the network through 2023. A second AEW show is set to be added to the Turner Media family, but further details have yet to be announced.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
