Colby Corino Says Attending An ROH Taping At The Age Of 12 Made Him Want To Be A Wrestler

Colby Corino reveals when he knew he wanted to be a wrestler.

Even though Colby Corino's father is ECW legend Steve Corino, it was Ring of Honor that inspired him to step into a ring himself. The younger Corino recently revealed that attending a Ring of Honor television taping at the age of 12 when his father was working for the promotion was what inspired him to get into the business himself.

In an interview with WU Online, Colby Corino recalled Davey Richards being the person in the ring when the bug officially bit him and he decided he wanted to be a wrestler.

“I went to my first ECW show when I was three weeks old. I’ve always been around wrestling my whole life. Maybe in the back of my head, I knew maybe one day I would be a wrestler but it wasn’t until I was like 12 and went to a Ring of Honor HDNet taping, back when they were doing that, and it was my Dad’s first shows back at Ring of Honor. I remember watching a match…it was Davey Richards in the ring, and I was watching him wrestle, and I was like - THIS…THIS is what I want to do! I want to wrestle like this dude!”

Colby Corino is currently the NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion. He will next defend his championship against Joe Alonzo on pay-per-view at NWA Samhain. Fans can check out the full card here.
