Colby Corino Says He's Happy To See Tony Khan Purchase ROH

Colby Corino is happy to see Ring of Honor continue.

The wrestling world is still abuzz with the news from earlier in the month of March 2022 that Tony Khan has purchased Ring of Honor wrestling. Many have given their thoughts about what they would like to see come of the brand in the future. For example, Matt Hardy wants to see Ring of Honor become akin to NXT for All Elite Wrestling.

Names outside of the world of AEW have also commented on the news. Colby Corino, who is currently wrestling for the National Wrestling Alliance, says that Ring of Honor holds a special place in his heart and he is happy to see it continuing on with someone who appears to be trustworthy of its controlling its legacy.

“I'm happy because I feel like there was so much doubt with Ring of Honor,” Colby tells the Battleground podcast. “Once they announced that they were taking a little hiatus, I feel like everyone was a little worried that they would lose that outlet that been around for so long. It's my stomping grounds. It's the wrestling that I watched when I was growing up. Like I wasn't watching the TV wrestling. After the Attitude Era, I literally did not watch any TV wrestling, all my wrestling watching came from watching the independents, or stuff from Japan. So, Ring of Honor holds a very sentimental place in my heart, and just to be able to see it purchased and it seems like Tony Khan's gonna keep it going. I'm very happy about that. Happy to see another place keep going.”

Most recently, Corino lost in a match to crown a new NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion. That match would be won by Homicide, a former Ring of Honor World Champion.

Ring of Honor will return with Supercard of Honor during WrestleMania weekend. Tony Khan recently stated that he would never have AEW run an event during WrestleMania weekend. Learn more here.
