Colt Cabana says that his role on ‘Young Rock’ was better than any wrestling gig.
Cabana appeared on the second season of the program, portraying the Brooklyn Brawler during The Rock’s early days in WWE, which is one of several roles he has played outside the world of professional wrestling.
While speaking to Salud Cabrones Podcast in a new interview, Colt was asked about his foray into acting, noting that he is always auditioning and discussed his role on ‘Young Rock’ noting that it was better than any wrestling gig he’s ever done.
“Yeah, I’m always auditioning, always doing something. I played the Brooklyn Brawler in The Young Rock. Yeah, which was crazy. I went to Australia for seven weeks. They put us up in five-star accommodations. I probably worked seven hours total. It was better than any wrestling gig I’ve ever done.”
Colt continued and discussed ‘Young Rock’ and playing The Brooklyn Brawler
“I worked with them, and that’s why I felt so confident when I got the audition. Usually when you get the audition, you know, whatever, you’re like, hopefully I get it. But I’m like, I’m made to play the Brooklyn Brawler. So I got the audition. I did it. Then I sent a little text to Chavo (Guerrero) because he was stunt coordinating. I was like, ‘hey, man, I’m not asking you. But make sure they know that I would be good at this.’ and he’s like, ‘done and done.’ Next thing you know, I’m on a flight to Australia playing the Brooklyn Brawler. Yeah, getting those nice residuals, being on TV, and sharpening a different aspect of performing.”
Earlier this year, Colt highlighted the process of wrestling being referenced in an episode of Family Guy. You can read more about that here.
Elsewhere in the same interview, Cabana discussed his longevity in the world of pro wrestling. You can read more about that here.
