Corey Graves Talks How He Was Approached For "After The Bell," Says It Won't Be A WWE Fluff Piece

Corey Graves discusses the beginning of the upcoming "After The Bell" podcast.

In an interview with Newsweek, Graves talked about he got involved with the project in the first place, saying he was approached a couple of months ago and was asked if he was interested in hosting WWE's flagship podcast.

"WWE reached out to me. I heard mumblings of a podcast partnership for the last year or so, and this place is so big that you can't believe anything until you see it. So I got a call about a month, maybe two months ago, asking if I'd be interested in hosting the WWE flagship podcast. For me that's a great compliment because it's a big undertaking and the company is putting a lot of effort into this, so I was flattered to be the first one asked to do this and be entrusted with the keys to the castle," Graves said.

One thing that many are wondering about the podcast is whether or not it will be a pro-WWE podcast. Graves admitted that he asked if this will be a "WWE fluff piece" but was told he was allowed to share criticisms he may or may not have. Graves didn't want to simply just talk about how great WWE is and nothing else and even hinted that there might be times when he will talk about wrestling topics beyond WWE.

"The first question I asked when they approached me about the podcast was, 'is this going to be a WWE fluff piece?' And they assured me that it wouldn't because I said 'if you want me to go on and talk about how great everything is and put my head in the sand and not talk about things that most podcasts cover then I wasn't interested.' They assured me that I am allowed to rock the boat a little bit. That to me was very exciting," Graves said.

Triple H, Bayley, Ric Flair, and Seth Rollins will be guests on the first episode of "After The Bell," which will drop on October 30.
