Correction Regarding Sumie Sakai's Statement

On June 28th, Fightful Wrestling printed a quote attributed to ROH Women of Honor Champion Sumie Sakai. The quote was used in the headline and the body of the article. The words used came from an interview with Sakai by the website Slam.Canoe.Com.

Also on June 28th, Sakai tweeted the link from Fightful Wrestling saying the quote was incorrect

It appears Sakai had a problem with the statement regarding the "women's revolution" and it beginning in Ring of Honor instead of WWE and stated English not being her first language may have been a reason for the misquote.

Fightful Wrestling reached out to a Ring of Honor public relations representative who informed Fightful the original author corrected his article and removed the quote. The article at Fightful has also been removed.

Sakai was also contacted on Instagram and once again reiterated the misquote may have been because it was done in English and insisted there was no reason to apologize.
