Grayson Waller And Austin Theory: Roman Reigns' Title Reign Won't Be Anything Close To Ours

In today’s column, we will be looking at the Top 10 Undertaker Matches In ‘Mania History. The Undertaker has had greatest run of any wrestler in WrestleMania history and this piece will celebrate that history.

#10: The Undertaker vs. Jimmy Snuka (‘Mania 7)

The streak had to start somewhere and it all began with WWE Hall of Fame member Jimmy Snuka at WWE Wrestemania 7. The match wasn’t the greatest of ‘Taker matches because Snuka was past his prime and The Undertaker was still no selling everything. This would also be the final match for Snuka at a ‘Mania pay-per-view for almost two decades as he would return at ‘Mania 25. The Undertaker won the match with the Tombstone Pile Driver, starting off his ‘Mania win streak at 1-0.

#9: The Undertaker vs. Edge (Champion)
WWE World Title Match (‘Mania 24)

This was the first time that The Undertaker had headlined a ‘Mania in quite some time and it would be the last time that Edge was in the 'Mania main event. This was a great match, arguably one of the most underrated ‘Mania main events in the history of the show. The Undertaker was still able to perform at the highest of levels, while Edge was simply one of the best workers of the era. The Undertaker would win the match with the Hell’s Gate submission to capture the WWE World Title.

#8: The Undertaker vs. Batista (Champion)
WWE World Title Match (‘Mania 23)

There is a pretty good story behind this match and it begins with the fact that this title match was placed in the middle of the card, not in a main event position. The Undertaker and Batista met backstage to lay out the match and upon learning of their position on the card, set out to simply steal the show. They pretty much accomplished this goal as they had what was arguably the best match during the show. The Undertaker would win the match and walk away with the gold after catching Batista with a Tombstone Pile Driver.

#7: The Undertaker vs. Ric Flair
No DQ Match (‘Mania 18)

The weapons were a little light in this match, but the blood and the brawling made this match a hardcore one to remember. Flair bled buckets in this one, being busted open as The Undertaker beat him around the ringside area. The match also featured a run in from Arn Anderson, who nailed The Undertaker with his patented spine buster. The Undertaker kept his ‘Mania undefeated streak alive in this match after hitting Flair with the Tombstone Pile Driver for the three count.

#6: The Undertaker vs. CM Punk (‘Mania 29)

This was the final CM Punk ‘Mania match and this was most likely the last great match for The Undertaker at a WrestleMania. An interesting side note to this match is that Paul Heyman managed Punk in this match, as Heyman would also manage Brock Lesnar a year later when the streak came to an end. This match also featured the near career ending injury of Punk as he came up short in a dive from the top rope onto ‘Taker, who was on the commentary table. The Undertaker would keep his ‘Mania streak alive for one more year as he caught Punk with a Tombstone Pile Driver for the three count.

#5: The Undertaker vs. Triple H (‘Mania 17)

Triple H was on fire at this point in his career and The Undertaker was putting in some of his best work of his career as well. The Undertaker also debuted the “American Badass” gimmick at this ‘mania and it would last until the “Dead Man” returned at ‘Mania 20. This match was fought all over the arena and Triple H took a lot of nasty bumps, including getting tossed off a staging area through a series of tables. The Undertaker nailed Triple H with the Last Ride to get the victory, which came a decade after he made his ‘Mania debut.

#4: The Undertaker vs. Triple H (‘Mania 27)

A decade after their last encounter at WrestleMania 17, The Undertaker and Triple H would meet again at ‘Mania 27. This match was a classic and even greater than their efforts a decade earlier, with the two men simply beating the crap out of each other. The Undertaker would win the match by submission after locking Triple H in his patented Hell’s Gate. The Undertaker took such a beating in this match that WWE officials and medical personnel had to help him to the backstage area.

#3: The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels (‘Mania 25)

It should have been criminal that a match that was this good wasn’t the main event of the show--Triple H versus Randy Orton had that honor on this night. While that match was almost universally derided, this match, between these two legends of the business, had everything a wrestling fan could ever hope for. The Undertaker would walk away victorious on this night, which was a prelude to what we would get a year later.

#2: The Undertaker vs. Triple H
Hell In A Cell Match (‘Mania 28)

The rivalry between The Undertaker and Triple H would end in the most brutal fashion ever, with a Hell In A Cell Match. The special guest referee for the match was Shawn Michaels, who had his career ended two years earlier by ‘Taker at ‘Mania 26. This match featured brutal weapons shots and the two competitors destroyed each other from bell to bell. The Undertaker would end the feud and the rivalry for good after nailing Triple H with a Tombstone Pile Driver for the three count.

#1: Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker
Career vs. The Streak (‘Mania 26)

The two clashed before at ‘Mania 25, but this would arguably be the greatest match in each wrestler's respective career. While both battled in their home state of Texas the year before, this battle between the two legends took place in Arizona. The match was a true masterpiece of wrestling greatness and for one wrestler, it would be their final match ever. The Undertaker defeated Michaels in the match, ending the career of the one dubbed “Mr. WrestleMania.”
