Sekimoto is wrapping up with Big Japan.

After 24 years of working with Big Japan Pro Wrestling, Daisuke Sekimoto is going to be departing the promotion. The news was announced by BJW promoter Eiji Tosaka at the promotion’s June 22nd event.

Sekimoto is wrapping up at the end of June and will become a freelancer. Tosaka shared that since the beginning of 2025, he and Sekimoto had been talking about a move as such. Sekimoto released his statement on the matter:

On May 29th, Sekimoto was taken to a hospital after suffering an injury at a BJW show. He was given a swinging DDT maneuver that resulted in him being stretchered out.

He was diagnosed with a traumatic cervical spine injury, but there was no paralysis or muscle weakness. Sekimoto was unable to attend the June 22nd Big Japan show due to health reasons.
