If you wondered how WWE would get more names impacted by their streaming restrictions involved, it looks like they've taken a big step.
After the last few months have been dominated by controversy and criticism in regards to WWE's approach to third party platforms including Twitch, several more names are involved in the UpUpDownDown channel in an official capacity.
Dakota Kai, Jessamyn Duke, Mia Yim and Shayna Baszler (known as BRE-start, a reference to their Best Roomies Ever moniker) appeared following UpUpDownDown Survivor Series as Xavier Woods lost to Tyler Breeze's LeftRightLeftRight team. Woods reached out to the four indicating that he needed their help, and theynegotiated "co-commissioner" spots.
While many suspected this was only a bit for the channel, we're told that those involved are actually contributing to the channel and will learn the inner workings of UpUpDownDown in an effort to add more content. Fightful told the plan is to allow for a lot of freedom and creativity, and producers will be helping train them on how that will all work. The four have been regulars on the channel previously.
The UpUpDownDown platform has been a gigantic success for WWE, currently sitting at 2.23 million subscribers and 370 million views over the past five years. This has carried over to other social media avenues as well, generating 700,000+ Instagram followers and 184,000 Twitter followers.
