From ROH:

Submission experts have thrived in the Pure Title scene since its inception. Whether it is former Champions like John Walters who mastered the Sharpshooter or the “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe, whose Coquina Clutch led him to various championships, the blue print to winning the Pure Championship had previously been filled with wrestlers that can execute a bevy of submisisons.

That is what makes former National Champion and All-American wrestler Josh “The Goods” Woods one of the biggest threats to use the Pure Rules to his advantage and submit opponents all the way through the tournament and to the Championship!

On top of his devastating Ankle Lock submission, Woods’ arsenal will force opponents to get to the ropes to break up his submissions and allow him to take full advantage of the Pure Rules! Woods will have to be careful around using closed fists, but his ability to kick and strike otherwise set him up for big-time success in this tournament!

Dalton Castle is the first former Ring of Honor World Champion to enter the tournament to crown a new Pure Champion and his offense is tailormade for success in this tournament!

With a dazzling array of throws and suplexes, Castle’s disoriented opponents often rely on reaching for the ropes to escape counts and submissions. Under Pure Rules, Castle’s opponents will have nowhere to go the fourth time they go for the ropes!

Castle’s experience and pedigree puts him in the driver’s seat to become the first Pure Champion in over a decade! But after primarily competing as a tag team wrestler for the last six-plus months, is Castle’s body conditioned to jump back into the single’s ranks?

Furthermore, Heather Monroe has been announced for the ROH Women's Title tournament. The current fields features Session Moth Martina, Miranda Alize, Gia Scott, Ashley Vox, Alex Garcia, Mandy Leon, Tasha Steelz, Jenny Rose, Katarina, Angelina Love, Sumie Sakai, Nicole Savoy, Kellyanne, and Monroe. The tournament is set to begin on Apr. 24.

Heather Monroe has a video at the top of her Twitter profile that accurately reflects what the platinum blonde is all about.

“Oh, hi,” Monroe, wearing a bathing suit and sunglasses, says into the camera after taking a sip of her drink. “I saw you there. I just didn’t care.”

Monroe apparently only cares about two things: herself and winning championships. She believes the Ring of Honor Women’s World Title belt would look perfect around her waist.

Known as “The Killer Bae,” Monroe is one of 16 competitors in the tournament to crown a new women’s champion in ROH. The tournament kicks off with eight first-round matches at Quest For Gold in Philadelphia on April 24.

Her opponents would be wise not to underestimate Monroe because of her glamorous appearance and snobbery. She’s a skilled competitor who won’t hesitate to try to rearrange an opponent’s face with a stiff kick or drop them on their head with a bone-jarring Dragon Suplex.

A graduate of the Santino Bros. Wrestling Academy, Monroe made her in-ring debut in 2015.
