Damian Priest vs. The Miz In A Lumberjack Match Set For WWE WrestleMania Backlash

Damian Priest looks to finish his feud with The Miz at WWE WrestleMania Backlash in a Lumberjack Match.

This match came to fruition after Priest defeated John Morrison in singles competition allowing him to determine the stipulation for his score-settling match against The Miz on Sunday, May 16.

Priest and Miz have been feuding since the Royal Rumble when Damian Priest aligned himself with Bad Bunny in an effort to eliminate both Miz and Morrison from the Royal Rumble. This would then lead to Priest teaming with Bad Bunny at WrestleMania to defeat The Miz and John Morrison. Miz And Morrison defeated Priest on the following up instead of Monday Night Raw with help from Miz’s wife, Maryse.

Morrison lost to Damian because of inadvertent help from Miz. Later, Damian told WWE official Adam Pearce that he wanted a stipulation where the Miz could not run away and chose the Lumberjack match. Lumberjack Matches require Superstars to circle the ring and prevent the combatants in the ring from running away.

In the past, Lumberjack matches on pay-per-view have included Diesel vs. Sid at the second In Your House Event in July 1995, John Cena vs. Ryback as part of a Three Stages Of Hell Match at Payback in 2013, and Mark Henry vs. Kane at the 2007 One Night Stand event.
