Dana White: I'm Not Pissed Brock Lesnar Didn't Return; His Head Wasn't In Fighting

Dana White comments on Brock Lesnar sticking with WWE.

For months the Ultimate Fighting Championship looked to be setting up a UFC Heavyweight Title fight between current champion Daniel Cormier and former champion Brock Lesnar. The rivalry kicked off at UFC 226 when Lesnar entered the Octagon following Cormier's victory over Stipe Miocic, jawing with, and eventually shoving the new champion.

The bout was teased throughout the fall and into the winner, but an agreement never materialized. After Lesnar dropped the WWE Universal Title to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35, fans expected him to be UFC-bound. However, that wasn't the case. Lesnar and the UFC failed to come to terms, leading to UFC President Dana White announcing Lesnar's retirement.

In an Instagram Live post, White gave his thoughts on Lesnar's decision.

“I wasn’t pissed at all,” White said. “Brock had a good run here. It’s been fun. Listen, to fight in this business; you have to be 100 percent invested. You’ve got to be in. It’s not where his head was. He made the right decision.”

Lesnar would end up returning to WWE, winning the Money in the Bank ladder match on May 19. Meanwhile, Cormier has moved on and will defend his Heavyweight Title in a rematch against Stipe Miocic on Aug. 17.
