Daniel Bryan Pulled From The 'Backlash' Post-Show Due To "Injury"

Big Cass was not going to let Daniel Bryan walk off into the sunset.

Daniel Bryan's reemergence onto the WWE roster as a full-time in-ring performer was a move that put a target on his back with many superstars on the WWE roster wanting to get a piece of Bryan. Coming out of WrestleMania 34 the first man to try his hand at challenging Daniel Bryan was the returning Big Cass who had been out of action since suffering a torn ACL last summer.

Big Cass implied for weeks on end that he was not targeting Daniel Bryan just to do it but he was doing so because the same day that Daniel Bryan was cleared to return to in-ring competition, he was cleared but the world was "too busy buzzing" about the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Tonight at WWE's 'Backlash' PPV Daniel Bryan stepped inside of the 'Prudential Center' in New Jersey looking to pick up a victory in his first singles match on PPV since being cleared to return to the squared circle. In his way of doing just that was the seven-foot big man Big Cass.

After fighting off the much-larger man Bryan trapped Cass in the "Yes-Lock" and immediately after the maneuver was applied Big Cass tapped out. Following the match an enraged Big Cass took out the leader of the "Yes Movement" and left him laying in the middle of the ring.

Daniel Bryan was announced to be on the 'Backlash' PPV post-show but due to the beat-down that he received at the hands of Big Cass, Bryan was removed from the show.
