Daniel Garcia: Working With Chris Jericho Made Me Comfortable To Try New Things And Not Fear Failure

Daniel Garcia discusses what he learned from working with Chris Jericho and rejects Isiah Kassidy's assessment that working with Jericho changed his style.

Daniel Garcia was the young talent of the Jericho Appreciation Society. As part of that group, which emphasized sports entertainment, Garcia worked closely under Chris Jericho, gleaning knowledge from his time under Jericho's learning tree.

In a new video on Zay's YouTube channel, the former AEW Tag Team Champion asked Daniel Garcia how Chris Jericho helped him in his career. Garcia would say that Jericho helped him get over his fear of failure.

" I think the biggest thing working with Jericho is just he gave me the confidence to try new things and not be afraid to fail," he said.

Zay explained to Garcia that he believed Jericho helped him grow as a performer and come out of his shell as opposed to the very serious wrestler he was when he came into AEW. Garcia would push back on this and say there was no major overhauling of his mindset. Instead, he believes he got better naturally as he got more reps on television.

"I wouldn't agree with that. I mean, I think it's more or less the same," he said. "The only difference is I do the dance, really. Of course, I've gotten better, and the crowd has gotten behind me more. But that just comes naturally from being on TV for the past three or four years. I don't think the mindset of how I do things is completely overhauled, or anything like that.

After FTR's Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler betrayed him, Garcia is on his own again. FTR also took out 2point0's Cool Hand Ang and Daddy Magic, two other former Jericho Appreciation Society members and Garcia's mentors.

Garcia recently challenged both members of FTR to meet him in singles action. Learn more here.
