Darby Allin Says He Didn't Suffer A Concussion On Blindside Attack By Ricky Starks

On the July 22 episode of AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin was given a rough greeting by Ricky Starks.

With his attention turned to Brian Cage and Taz, Starks blindsided Allin from behind on the entrance stage, knocking Allin into the ring ropes and causing his head to whiplash.

It was reported by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live that Allin had suffered a concussion as a result of the spot.

Appearing on the Battleground podcast, Allin discussed the spot and clarified that he did not suffer a concussion.

"The moment that happened, I was like, 'Brian is on hold, I have to take care of Ricky.' That's what I've set out to do. When you enter yourself into somebody's business and almost end my career, with my neck snapping against the ropes, there's a lot I have planned for Ricky," he said. "I went off into my own world. I sat in my car and was like, 'whoa, I got rocked.' Then, I went to the medical staff, talked to them, and I was good to go, no concussion, just extreme whiplash."

Allin wrestled the following week on Dynamite, teaming with Jon Moxley against Starks and Cage. He was able to get a measure of revenge, using Starks' back as a rail for his thumbtack skateboard.

Allin had another rough outing at AEW All Out, taking a blind powerbomb from Brian Cage as he was trapped in a body bag.
