Darby Allin says his recent match with MJF was his favorite.
Darby Allin and Maxwell Jacob Friedman are self-proclaimed “pillars” of All Elite Wrestling. This is to say that they, along with Sammy Guevara and Jungle Boy, are the young stars that have stuck with the brand since before it was truly taking off.
MJF and Darby had a critically acclaimed match at AEW Full Gear 2021 and now, Darby is telling Robbie Fox on My Mom's Basement that match ranks number one for him.
"In a weird way, I know it sounds crazy, but it has to rank number one. In a weird way, only because I don't like to give Max that credit. The whole thing with that is going into the match, I had a lot to prove mentally because there's all these new faces coming to AEW. We had to prove to them, the audience, that the pillars, so to speak, are going to steal the show. We did just that. So it's good not to get lost in the shuffle in these times."
Even though Darby lost the match, he has said that he one day plans to get his revenge by way of an unsanctioned match against Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Learn more about his plans for that match here.
