Daria Berenato aka Sonya Devile: I'm Not Saying Never To Anything

Daria Berenato, formerly known as Sonya Deville in WWE, firmly believes that things from the universe don't happen to you, they happen for you, and there's a lot happening right now for the former WWE Superstar.

Berenato was informed back in February of 2025 that WWE would not be renewing her contract. Instead of letting that decision define her, Berenato instead chose to use it as an opportunity to return to her first love -- mixed martial arts. For the first time ever, Berenato will serve as the special guest color analyst on an all-women commentary team for Invicta FC 62.

To promote her appearance at the show, Berenato spoke with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp about a number of different subjects, including the, pardon the phrase, fusion, between her previous amateur MMA career, her wrestling career and, now, her return to MMA with Invicta FC.

"Yeah, I'm like a really big believer in the universe and trusting the process and where life takes you and if you put it in the work and if you manifest enough, I feel like things will align how they should and patience is obviously part of that. I feel like it happened very organically. I loved my 10 years wrestling and now I'm excited to be on the other side of that and I'm excited to be able to be back in the driver's seat and do all the things that I've wanted to do for so long," Berenato said.

When asked if Berenato has closed the door on her wrestling career, she offered a fun spin on the "never say never" line that has been a part of the pro wrestling lexicon for decades.

I'm very much living in a state of slow right now, so I'm not closing any doors. I'm quite enjoying the beginning of Chapter 2 over here, as I like to call it, and I'm not saying never to anything. I will say this— my body and mind feels the best that it has maybe ever. I feel stronger than I ever have. I feel like, I don't know if I was a late bloomer, but I feel more athletic than I ever was. I feel really good. So I feel like anything is kind of up in the air right now," she said.

Invicta Fighting Championships 62 is happening on Friday, May 16 at 06:30 p.m. ET, on the CBS Sports Network. The card features Katharina Lehner taking on Olga Rubin; DeAnna Bennett fighting Rayla Nascimento; Milana Dudieva facing off against Amanda Torres and more. Berenato joins former Invicta FC featherweight fighter Megan Anderson, and MMA pioneer Julie Kedzie at the commentary table.
