DarkState Def. Broken Hardys In Broken Rules Rules Match At Halloween Havoc PLE, Regains NXT Tag Team Titles

DarkState has the titles once again.

The Broken Hardys (Broken Matt & Brother Nero) emerged for the NXT Tag Team Title defense at the Halloween Havoc Premium Live Event. They put the titles on the line against DarkState (Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin) in a Broken Rules match. Matt and Jeff Hardy came out to the Broken Hardys theme song.

DarkState’s Saquon Shugars and Cutler James got involved throughout the match. Both Matt and Jeff dove onto James and Shugars and put them through tables.

There was a point in the match when Griffin and Lennox hit a 3D onto Matt Hardy. The Hardys had Team 3D’s final match at TNA Bound For Glory and bested Team 3D (Bully Ray & D-Von Dudley) in a Tables match for the NXT Tag Team and TNA World Tag Team Championships.

Later in the match, Jeff climbed to the top of a ladder and did a Swanton, but Griffin moved out of the way, and Jeff went crashing through tables. The match came to an end when Griffin lifted Jeff for a Doomsday Device, and Lennox clotheslined Jeff, sending him through a table. Lennox pinned Hardy, and DarkState became two-time NXT Tag Team Champions. They initially lost the belts to The Hardys at NXT vs. TNA Showdown.

After the match, cameras cut backstage to Je’Von Evans and TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater. Slater and Evans opened the show by scoring a win over AAA’s Mr. Iguana and La Parka in tag team action.

Evans and Slater are eyeing the NXT Tag Team Titles because DarkState crashed their singles match at TNA Bound For Glory. Leon said he’s locked in on the X Division Title, but when he’s less busy with that, he and Je’Von can target DarkState.
