Darren Young Gives Update On His Elbow Injury

Darren Young's absence from Monday Night RAW is due to an elbow injury and Young went to Twitter to give an update.

Young's update on Twitter was a short 14-second video saying he got an MRI on his elbow, but he does not know what the extent of his injury really is.

Young injured his elbow in a tag match with Sin Cara against Primo and Epico back in January.

Young is a former WWE Tag Team Champion with Titus O'Neil back in 2015. Young was drafted to Monday NIght RAW in the 2016 WWE Draft in the 8th round on the WWE Network portion of the WWE Draft. He had been managed for several months by WWE Hall of Famer and former WWE Champion Bob Backlund and Young had been using Backlund's crossface chickenwing submission maneuver since being aligned with Backlund.

The last time Young was in the title scene was when he challenged The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at the 2016 Battleground pay-per-view. That match ended in a double disqualification, resulting in The Miz retaining his title. He had been appearing sporadically on WWE television since then, now mostly wrestling on the now-defunct WWE Superstars show and on WWE Main Event.

Young was also famous for being the first active WWE wrestler to come out as gay while wrestling for the company.
