Gonzalez previously worked for WWE as Dasha Fuentes, where she briefly wrestled before transitioning into being a backstage interviewer and a part of the broadcast team. She was released by WWE in April 2019 and signed with AEW months later.

All episodes of season two were taped before the coronavirus pandemic forced shutdowns across the country. The season will feature Olympic gold medalists, Super Bowl champions and UFC champions competing on the show. According to The Rock, the premiere episode will be an "epic two-hour event" before the show settles into a one-hour format on June 1.
