Dave Bautista Discussing Eddie Guerrero's In-Ring Ability: "Eddie’s Skill Was Overlooked"

Dave Bautista talking about one of his closest friends.

When former 6-time WWE World Champion Dave Bautista was brought over to SmackDown as a part fo the 2005 Draft Lottery, he engaged in a number of feuds but one man who he was able to feud with and form a bond with on-screen and off-screen is WWE Hall Of Famer Eddie Guerrero. Bautista and Eddie teamed together on a number of occasions and although they were never able to capture tag team gold, the two friends got to wrestle one another with the World Championship on the line and established a friendship that Bautista still holds dear to his heart to this day.

To promote the 1000th episode of SmackDown, Bautista was interviewed by WWE and as the discussion rolled on, Bautista began speaking about the in-ring ability of "Latino Heat". Bautista stated that Eddie was overlooked and added that Eddie was one of the smoothest individuals that he had ever been in the ring with.

“I think a lot of the time Eddie’s skill was overlooked, but Eddie wasn’t a large man of stature but Eddie could work anybody." Bautista said. "He could make you believe he was hurting anybody because he was just so tenacious and aggressive but he was so talented and his timing was so good and he could just read the crowd better than most people I’ve ever worked with in my life and he was somebody [that I] was comfortable to be in the ring with.”

Today a documentary about Eddie Guerrero and his contributions to the SmackDown brand will stream live on WWE's YouTube channel.
