David Allen Wants To Pursue A Career In Wrestling Once His Boxing Career Is Over

Another athlete from a different sport wants to transition into wrestling.

The likes of Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn and more names along those lines represent the individuals that have transitioned from other sports to the land of professional wrestling and found success and vice versa. The 16-4-2 British-born Boxer David Allen is looking to add his name to that list. The self-dubbed "White Rhino" was recently interviewed by World Boxing News and stated that everyone knows he has a passion for wrestling and when he met WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley a number of weeks ago, that only fueled his passion to one day step into the ring.

“Everyone knows my real passion is wrestling – You only have to look at my social media which shows it’s a big part of my life,” said Allen. “I’ve got a big fight to win on April 20th but the discussions are on-going for me to enter the professional wrestling world for 2020 with various organizations. I’m in great shape at the minute and want to box three or four times this year and give it my all. But then I’m up for making the switch and be a crossover star in both sports." He continued, "I met Mick Foley a few weeks ago and that’s only fueled my fire to follow in his footsteps. It’s not over the line yet but the talks are promising.”

David Allen's next bout is set for April 20th as he meets former WBA Heavyweight Champion Lucas Browne. To get a recap of everything going on in the world of Boxing, head over to the "podcasts" section of Fightful for our Boxing podcast with Carlos Toro.
