Two more names advance in the G1 Climax 33 tournament.
On August 8, C Block action wrapped up in the G1 Climax 33 tournament with David Finlay and EVIL advancing to the next stage.
Finlay topped the block with a 5-2 (10 points) record, defeating Eddie Kingston on the final night to secure his spot as the block winner. EVIL also finished 5-2 (10 points), besting Shingo Takagi in the main event to finish second.
Finlay defeated EVIL in block action to secure the tie breaker between the two men.
Finlay suffered losses to Tama Tonga and Shingo during the round robin portion of the tournament while EVIL was defeated by Finlay and Mikey Nicholls.
As a result of winning the block, Finlay will now face Will Ospreay, who was the runner up in B Block, while EVIL will face SANADA, the reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and the winner of A Block.
