David Finlay addresses EVIL’s exit from New Japan Pro Wrestling.
EVIL recently departed from New Japan Pro Wrestling at the end of his most recent contract, and has garnered interest not only in Japan but in the United States also. In one of his final matches in NJPW, EVIL would lose to Aaron Wolf in singles action at Wrestle Kingdom.
While speaking to NJPW in a new interview, David Finlay was asked about EVIL, accusing the former NJPW name of quitting out of shame, while noting that if he lost to Wolf, he’d have done the same thing.
“EVIL? He got beat by an Olympic gold medalist and quit out of shame. Great athlete, Olympic gold medalist, but it was his first ever pro-wrestling match. If I lost to someone in their very first match in front of a sold out Tokyo Dome, I’d quit out of shame too.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Finlay spoke about Callum Newman not striking Will Ospreay with a chair at New Year’s Dash. You can read more about that here.
