David Otunga believes The Nexus could have been on the level of The Shield.
When the Nexus came onto the scene in 2010, they would attack John Cena and several other top names in the company and it seemed like the faction were destined for big things. However, the faction would suffer a big loss at SummerSlam against Team WWE and Cena, leading to the stable losing their momentum.
While speaking on Insight With Chris Van Vliet in a new interview, David Otunga was asked about the potential The Nexus had, with Otunga noting that he believes the faction could have reached the levels of The Shield.
“I think we would have had a major run kind of like The Shield. Because if you ask me, I feel like The Shield was Nexus 2.0. What they did with The Shield, everything they did wrong in Nexus, they made sure they did it right with The Shield. That’s my opinion. So I assume we would have had a run kind of similar to that.”
