DDP Recalls Eric Bischoff Warning He Could Get Fired For Playboy Appearances

Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) recalls Eric Bischoff telling him he could get fired for appearing in Playboy.

DDP and Kimberly appeared in a 1997 edition of Playboy’s Nude Celebrities, which was later used as part of his storyline with “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

Speaking on What Do You Wanna Talk About? With Cody Rhodes, DDP discussed his rise in WCW. He also talked about his feud with Randy Savage, and said it all started because he and his ex-wife, Kimberly, appeared on Playboy magazine.

When Page first talked to Eric Bischoff about appearing in Playboy, Bischoff brought up the morality clause in his contract and said he could lose his job. Page told Bischoff that if that happened, maybe Vince McMahon would’ve used it as an angle.

“I go, ‘Eric, we’re having a couple drinks at the Longhorn.’ I said, ‘I got something I gotta tell you.’ He goes, ‘What’s the matter? What’s the matter?’ I go, ‘You know, Kimberly’s been in Playboy satellite magazines and stuff. Well they’re coming out with celebrity nudes and we’re in it.’ (Eric) ‘What? You’re in a bag.’ I go, ‘Back up. I’m not naked. I’m tying my boots while she’s just about to put on her dress. I’m giving her a massage with a cigar, bring a towel wrapped around me and I’m massaging her.’ It was originally a two-page shoot. They saw it, they loved it. They made it six pages. They asked us to come back and reshoot it. He goes, ‘You have a morality clause. You could lose your job over this.’ The Turner. Well there it was, and I said, ‘Hey if I get fired, maybe Vince will use it.’”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Cody Rhodes revealed a clause he added to his Wheatly contract. Fans can read more about it here.
