DDT Pro Wrestling has officially canceled its Wrestle Peter Pan event due to the coronavirus pandemic.
DDT put out the following statement on social media:
[Important Notice] Based on the spread of new coronavirus infection and other factors, we have decided to cancel the June 7 Saitama Super Arena Tournament. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers. The alternative schedule is currently being adjusted.
Wrestle Peter Pan is just the latest event to be canceled in Japan. NJPW has already canceled events through May 4, though they are continuing to pay staff and contracted talent. AJPW canceled the annual Champion Carnival tournament and NOAH has canceled events through May.
Fightful will continue to update fans on cancelations around the wrestling world as they are known.
