Appearing on The Taz Show, Alberto Del Rio continued to defend his girlfriend, WWE wrestler Paige, after she was suspended for violating the WWE wellness policy for a second time.
In an interview that aired on Tuesday's episode, Del Rio echoed earlier criticisms of the suspension of Paige, describing the latest suspension as "complete BS". Del Rio also echoed posts that Paige made on Twitter on Monday, regarding double standards that exist inside the company. The second wellness policy violation was because of a prescription for painkillers, according to a Facebook post made Monday by Paige's father.
He also has conducted an interview with ESPN, addressing the suspension and his relationship with Paige, which has fueled an abundance of rumors that WWE was pushing for the couple to split.
Del Rio left WWE last month following his own violation of the wellness policy, which was announced at the same time as Paige's initial offense. Before the 30-day suspension was up, Del Rio had ended his second stint with the company less than a year after he returned and defeated John Cena for the WWE United States Title in his very first match back with the company at the 2015 Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
Del Rio since has appeared for AAA among other promotions, and said that plenty of alternatives existed outside of WWE where a wrestler could make a living.
Del Rio also provided some insight on the stabbing incident that kept him off an AAA event last week, saying it occurred after "someone disrespected my girl."
Del Rio added he had no interest in returning to MMA.
