Deonna Purrazzo found herself again in the Knockouts division.
Deonna Purrazzo has been the focal point of the Knockouts division since debuting in IMPACT after her WWE release on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Speaking as part of a series on the Knockouts division on Twitter, incumbent Champion, Deonna Purrazzo opened up about how the division has helped her find herself once again comment getting emotional when she speaks about how the division revolutionized women's wrestling before was trendy to do so.
"I would say, an IMPACT Wrestling Knockout is a strong, determined woman, I would say that we make up a collection of women who have redefined women's wrestling. Above all else, we are the most professional, and the most diverse group of women in the entire professional wrestling. I absolutely think that the Knockouts revolutionized women's wrestling before it was trendy to revolutionize women's wrestling. I think that what the Knockouts were able to do for their time helped women. With the platform you have today, there would be no platform without the Knockouts division, pushing the boundaries and breaking through the glass ceilings that women dressing face constantly for years.
"Women Empowerment means absolutely everything to me. In professional wrestling, we are nothing without the people we wrestle with. We are partners, your opponents, we are rivals. But at the end of the day, we need each other to do what we do. So to be able to come backstage and know that I put my body on the line for someone else, and they did the same exact thing for me, is everything for our entire sport, not just women, but women have always had to fight to be women and for that to be okay. So the fact that your Knockouts division is completely diverse, everyone is unique. Everyone is strong and owns themselves and who they are with the utmost respect for each other and what everyone brings to the table, I think is exactly what makes our division the best in the world."
She continued, "Someone who's always close to my heart is Madison Rayne. I've known her since I was 19. Since my first appearance and IMPACT Wrestling, and she is one of the biggest fans and supporters and reasons I met IMPACT Wrestling today. But there's women like Gail Kim, who have a similar journey to me, there's Mickie James, who had a similar journey to me. So honestly, the list is endless. I could go on and on about all of them and what they brought to the table and how they helped me get to where I am today to be a part of the backups. division to me means redemption. I came here not knowing exactly who 'The Virtuosa' Deonna Purrazzo was. To be a part of this division redefined me as not only a professional wrestler but a human being."
