Deonna Purrazzo Praises Kanji: “She Is A Female Zack Sabre Jr… By Far, The Most Technical Wrestler I’ve Ever Been In The Ring With”

Purrazzo heaps praise on Kanji.

In March 2025, Deonna Purrazzo went over to the U.K. and competed for Revolution Pro Wrestling. She faced eight-year wrestler Kanji in singles competition.

While guest appearing on the Hitting The Turnbuckle Podcast, Purrazzo looked back on working with Kanji and called her the female version of Zack Sabre Jr. She said Kanji is the most technical wrestler she’s ever been in the ring with.

“I came over last March and I wrestled Kanji at RevPro, and she even challenged me to be more technical than I’m used to when I wrestle women here in the States. Just because she is a female Zack Sabre Jr. She’s not trying to do highspots, she’s not trying to run, she’s not going corner to corner. It’s all based on the mat and I love that. It’s just a rare chance that I get to do it here in the States so, she challenged me to think outside my box, to grow, to implement things that I wouldn’t normally have done, and I was so, so grateful for that… I’m considered a technical wrestler but if you asked me, I think it’s like smoke and mirrors. I have a few things that are technical, right? And I take a lot from Johnny Saint and that kind of wrestling but, I wouldn’t say I’m the most technical wrestler. I kind of let the fans call me that. She, by far, the most technical wrestler I’ve ever been in the ring with.”

Purrazzo is the first-ever and reigning ROH Women’s Pure Champion. She is scheduled to defend her title against Diamanté at ROH Supercard of Honor.
