Deonna Purrazzo Praises Steph De Lander For Betting On Herself, Says She Was ‘Excited’ to Face Her At ROH Death Before Dishonor

Deonna Purrazzo comments on Steph De Lander.

At ROH Death Before Dishonor, Deonna Purrazzo defended her ROH Women’s Pure Title against Steph De Lander in a Pure Wrestling Rules Match.

During the post-show media scrum, Tony Khan asked Deonna to elaborate on her experience working with Steph De Lander heading into the show.

“I really love women supporting other women, but also women who feel so strongly about the talent they have and what they can serve the audience. She bet on herself this year. It’s been two years since she had neck surgery. She left another company knowing I can do more. I identify so much with that throughout my career. We have a great friendship outside of the ring. I think also knowing that we’re bringing what Steph De Lander has to Ring of Honor for the first time, you get to see her for the first time in action in your own company and I was just really excited to be a part of that. I think there’s so many incredible women throughout women’s wrestling that if I just get one little piece of their journey and get to introduce them to a new audience or potentially help them elevate themselves, that’s all I really ever wanted to do since I was a little girl in women’s wrestling. I was really, really honored to be a part of that tonight.”
