The interview was released on June 2nd, 2025, but recorded in September 2024.
To start her run in AEW, Deonna Purrazzo interrupted Mariah May. The two would reconnect on-screen when Purrazzo and 'Timeless' Toni Storm kicked off their program for the Women's World Championship.
Purrazzo looks back fondly on working with May and expressed that during her appearance on the Lightweights Podcast with Joe Vulpis. She feels more could have been done with her and Mariah together.
“Yeah (I’ve had some favorite opponents at AEW). I really loved working with Mariah May, and I think there was so much more we could have done and so much more we could still play with if we were ever gonna wrestle again. Because she’s who I interrupted on my debut in Jersey and I think she’s a great wrestler. I think that she’s told an incredible story with Toni (Storm) up until this point but, I was a large part of that story and also, she cost me the AEW Women’s World Championship. So, I’m coming for you.”
Mariah May is no longer on the AEW roster page. Fightful Select reported that she is expected to join WWE. May's last match in AEW was a Women's World Title bout against Toni Storm at Revolution.
