Deonna Purrazzo recalls knowing that she wanted to be a professional wrestler from the age of nine years old.

For many professional wrestlers, they realize that they will become one early on in their fandom, usually when they are children. For Deonna, this came before she reached double digits in terms of her age.

While speaking with Wrestling With Heart in a new interview, Deonna Purrazzo was asked when she knew she was going to be a professional wrestler, noting that she realized that she wanted to become one at nine years old.

“Oh, my gosh. When I was nine years old. So right at nine. I told my parents, I think I’m going to be a professional wrestler one day, and they were like,’ yeah, OK.’ You know, and at that time, like women weren’t heavily featured, women were having these like athletic showcases of matches. Like women were very much the bra and panties match, the playboy pillow fight.  I thought, well, I’m an athlete and I could definitely do more than that. So women as a whole could do more than that, and I think, yeah, at nine years old, I was like I’m going to go to wrestling school when I’m 16 and I could drive myself there and I’ll get a job so I can pay for it, and I’m going to change women’s wrestling.”

Former TNA Knockout Brooke Adams recently commented on wanting to wrestle Deonna. You can read more about that here.
