Dexter Lumis Explains Why He Licked Bronson Reed In His NXT TV Debut Match
Dexter Lumis made his NXT TV debut on the July 17, 2019 episode of the program, taking on Bronson Reed in the Breakout Tournament.
Reed was victorious in the bout, but Lumis had perhaps the most memorable moment, licking his opponent in the middle of the action.
“Yes, it did because people were unsure. What’s this guy all about? What’s going on here?” Lumis told Chris Van Vliet on Insight as to why he would lick opponents. “I think my debut match on TV and in NXT was at Full Sail, and it was against Bronson Reed. I’m beating the hell out of him, and he’s sitting on his ass, and I just got him and grabbed his head, and then I just look at everybody and I lick his face, and the whole crowd was just like oh! Sometimes you pinpoint somebody in the crowd and you just watch them. Garner a reaction. I was taught to always go above and beyond, we can always pull it back. That was pulled back a little bit.”
Road Dogg previously revealed that Lumis would lick people during training.
Lumis confirmed, saying, “Yeah. So again, trying to stand out, trying to be different.”
