DIA (Dragon Dia) Clarifies Details Surrounding Dragongate Departure

Candid comments from DIA.

After having been with Dragongate Japan Pro-Wrestling since the beginning of his in-ring career in 2018, DIA a.k.a. Dragon Dia has left the promotion.

He took to X to open up about his exit. He wanted to add his perspective to avoid any misunderstandings that derived from Dragongate’s statement about his departure.

Since the fall of 2025, the two sides have had multiple meetings regarding his exit.

During the negotiations, there were conditions raised for his departure, such as penalty fees and restrictions on his activities. DIA felt he did not have enough knowledge about some of what was being discussed, so he decided to consult with experts and ultimately got an agent whom he negotiated through.

He noted that his intention to leave Dragongate, as well as the timing of the announcement, were all communicated to Dragongate through his representative. He did that so things could unfold appropriately and calmly.

He added that negotiations about the aforementioned conditions are still ongoing, and details are limited as far as what he can share, but he will continue addressing the situation with sincerity.

He intended to leave Dragongate without mentioning the negotiations, but since the promotion put out their side of the situation, he felt he had to offer his.

The 27-year-old DIA last wrestled for Dragongate on February 28th.
