Diego Hill: Facing Mustafa Ali For The X-Division Title Was A Dream Come True

Diego Hill reflects on wrestling Mustafa Ali for the TNA X-Division Title.

On June 30, 2024, Mustafa Ali defended the TNA X-Division Championship against Diego Hill at AML Confrontation. Now, Hill explains why that match was a dream come true for him.

In a recent interview with Jeremy Lambert and SP3 on Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds, he reflected on the experience of wrestling Mustafa Ali. He praised the match and said that he learned a lot from Ali, with whom he also shared great chemistry.

“It felt like a dream come true. I’ve been wrestling people that I’ve seen on TV and for me to (face them), I’m pinching myself like, ‘Holy shit, I’m wrestling Mustafa Ali.’ It was a great match. Really great guy. I’ve learned so much from him to a point where it helped me become a better wrestler. The chemistry we had was great. The moments we had was great. What popped me the most, and I didn’t expect him to do it, was the promo after the match. It had me speechless and in tears. I feel like, when you’re wrestling one of these big superstars and they cut a promo after, (with him) saying I’m the future or present, it shows that I’m doing my job right.”
