Doc Rivers: I'd Love To See Joel Embiid In WWE

Doc Rivers supports Joel Embiid in WWE.

Doc Rivers coached Joel Embiid for three seasons on the Philadelphia 76ers and helped Embiid evolve into the MVP player that he was during the 2022-2023 NBA season.

He also watched Embiid's love of wrestling on display as the center would hit opposing players with a "suck it" taunt after converting an and-one. The NBA has fined Embiid for using the taunt.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Rivers commented on Embiid potentially moving to a WWE ring.

“I want to see him do that,” said Rivers. “Joel loves WWE, and he’d be great at that. I’d love to see it.”

Embiid has been invited to WrestleMania 40, which takes place in Philadelphia, and to NXT by Triple H and Shawn Michaels, but he is unsure he'll be able to make it. WrestleMania is at the beginning of April while the Sixers are still playing basketball. Embiid's season usually wraps in the middle of May.

Embiid is once again putting up NBA numbers for the Sixers this season, averaging 32 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.
