Dolph Ziggler will make his return to Smackdown next week following two bizarre disappearances.
It was announced before tonight's main event on Smackdown that Dolph Ziggler would face off against Baron Corbin on next week's show:
Ziggler has largely been gone from storylines since vacating the WWE United States title on Smackdown back on December 19. He never said he was vacating the title, but instead cut a promo saying that no one deserves him, and left the title in the ring. In storyline, Daniel Bryan the following week said he was unable to contact Ziggler, so the title was vacated. Bobby Roode eventually became the new champion, defeating Jinder Mahal to become the new champion.
He made a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble, entering at number 30, but was quickly dispatched by Finn Balor. He again disappeared from television until the announcement was made tonight.
Smackdown next week will be at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California.
