At Survivor Series 2019, Dominik Mysterio attempted to help his dad Rey capture the WWE Championship by interfering in his match against Brock Lesnar. Though Dominik's interference did not work out for the Mysterio family, he showed flashes of potential in only a few moves.
One move was the frog splash, made famous by his "Papi" Eddie Guerrero.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Dominik revealed that the first time he ever hit the frog splash was that moment on Brock.
"We were in the back talking about what we could do if something presented itself. My dad was like, 'hit the frog splash.' 'I've never done a frog splash before.' I just started looking at videos of how Eddie used to do it and it just came together. From there on, it was just like, 'Yeah, I'll hit the froggy.' So now, it's the Eddie frog splash," said Dominik. "I've jumped off the turnbuckle, did the [Macho Man pose] and jumped down, but never actually did a frog splash."
Dominik reiterated that he never practiced the move, even on a crash pad, and that doing it to Brock was the first time he tried it.
Dominik has continued to use the frog splash in his matches as a tribute to Eddie Guerrero.
