Throughout 2025, Penta and Dominik Mysterio have found themselves on the opposite sides of the ring from each other several times, including with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line in the past. On the October 13th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW from Perth, Australia, they would battle for the title once again.
Before the match, Rusev would approach Penta and warned Penta that he will face the winner of today’s match in the future after speaking with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. After Penta walked away, Dominik would turn a corner, but would also turn around upon seeing Rusev.

For the match itself, Dominik would begin the match alone, as no Judgment Day members accompanied him to ringside. Penta would start the match in control, with the pair trading momentum during the shows matches first commercial break. Later on Dominik would hit a suicide dive turned into a tornado DDT, which would lead to Penta coming close to being counted out after being launched into the timekeepers area by the champion. For quite some time, this would lead to Dominik being in control, including taking his time and mocking Penta’s walk.

However, Penta would begin to fight back after the second commercial break, hitting several aerial moves, into a set of Three Amigos with Mysterio countering the third with a suplex of his own. Penta would shortly after hit the Penta Driver, leading to a near fall. Rusev would make his way out to the ring near the end of the bout, with Penta hitting a senton over the top rope on Rusev, taking him out. Dominik would then use the Intercontinental Championship as a distraction before hitting Penta with the timekeepers hammer, leading to a 619 and splash to retain the championship.
