Donovan Dijak Heard T-BAR Stood For ‘That Boy Ain’t Right’

During his run with RETRIBUTION, a vigilante group in WWE that was eventually headed by Mustafa Ali, Donovan Dijak portrayed T-BAR.
What was T-BAR?
“I heard through the grapevine that was a Vince (McMahon) call and that he thought it was an acronym for That Boy Ain’t Right or something like that. Not confirmed. He never told me that. That’s what they said in the production meeting or something like that. I think Jerry Lawler said it on commentary one of the first nights and it did not hit or stick. I guess that’s what T-BAR stood for. My job is to make it work. If I’m given something, my job is to make it work the best I can. I tried to make T-BAR work the best I could. I tried to give the letters meaning. T stands for Tyrant. I tried to brand myself as a Tyrannosaurus Rex. You bring all sorts of ideas and concepts to the table, but it’s an uphill battle. It’s an odd name. I think people heard that and were like, ‘What on earth is T-BAR?’ I think the most common term for T-BAR is a machine that you row with. So people are like, ‘Are you a rowing machine?’ I don’t know. I made T-BAR work the best I could,” Dijak said while speaking to Jeremy Lambert & SP3 on In The Weeds.
Unfortunately for all members of RETRIBUTION, nothing really worked and the group was dissolved less than a year after forming.
Dijak has found success in MLW, holding the MLW Tag Team Titles alongside Bishop Dyer (Baron Corbin in WWE). Dijak is set to challenge for the MLW World Title against Matt Riddle at MLW Fightland on September 3.
