Dory Funk Jr comments on pro wrestlers today and where the wrestling industry is.
Over the past few years, the wrestling industry and in particular WWE have undergone a surge of momentum that has previously been described as the company ‘being on fire’. Now, a 60 year veteran of the industry has given his take on how he views the pro wrestling industry in 2026.
While speaking to Going Ringside in a new interview, Dory Funk Jr was asked about what he thinks of the wrestlers today, noting that he views them as tough and that the wrestling business is bigger now than he has ever known it to be in the United States.
“They’re tough now. Yeah, I gotta give them credit. They’re tough and they work hard and they give the fans what they want to see because the wrestling business is bigger now than I have ever known it to be in the United States of America.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Dory spoke about training Edge and Christian when they were still young. You can read more about that here.
