Drew Gulak Finishes Up With WWE

Just 24 hours after being featured in the Intercontinental Championship tournament, Drew Gulak has been confirmed to be parting ways with WWE.

The departure was confirmed by Ryan Satin of WWE Backstage shortly after Drew was moved to the alumni section of WWE's official roster page. It should be noted that the post from Satin originally indicated Gulak has been released, but it's been updated to reflect that he "parted ways" with the company.

Drew Gulak got his start in WWE via the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament in 2016 and would go on to be a featured player on 205 Live, having a brief run with the Cruiserweight Championship in 2019.

In early 2020, he would begin a brief feud with Daniel Bryan based around their mutual love and respect for mat wrestling. After competing in a critically acclaimed opening bout at the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in March, Drew would go on to form a unit with Daniel Bryan even helping Bryan secure an Intercontinental Championship match at WrestleMania against Sami Zayn.

His final match with WWE would take place on the May 15 episode of SmackDown, losing to Daniel Bryan in a highly competitive Intercontinental Championship tournament match.

Drew Gulak's contract was due to be out shortly and there is a belief that he would not be resigning with the company.

Drew Gulak is yet another name added to the list of people cut by WWE in the last month. On April 15, several roster members and producers were released and/or furloughed. You can see a full list of names at this link.
