Drew McIntyre To Kevin Owens: We Are Wrestlers In A Wrestling Ring, Let’s Wrestle

Wrestling!

The restriction on vocabulary in WWE seems to be no more, as Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens let the 'W word' fly rapidly on the August 15 edition of WWE Raw. In a back and forth promo battle, Owens and McIntyre both explained their current motivations within the company, which led McIntyre to say:

Triple H To Rhea Ripley: Thank You For A Reign That The Entire WWE Universe Can Be Proud Of

"We are wrestlers in a wrestling ring, let’s wrestle."

The two would go on to have an excellent wrestling match before The Usos came to the ring and attacked both stars, therefore causing the bout to end in disqualification.

The word wrestling and/or wrestler has been banned in WWE for quite some time, as the previous regime, led by Vince McMahon, preferred to use terms such as Sports Entertainment and Superstars. To see a full list of terms that were banned under the McMahon regime, click here.

The word 'titles' was also thrown around multiple times in Owens and McIntyre's promo. To further add to the evidence that the banned terms list has been modified, commentator Jimmy Smith said the word 'hospital' instead of the previously preferred term that was 'local medical facility'.
