Drew McIntyre Reveals His WrestleMania 39 Goal: I Want GUNTHER And The Intercontinental Championship

Drew McIntyre has made it very clear. He wants to face GUNTHER at WrestleMania 39 for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Drew McIntyre's first championship in WWE was the Intercontinental Championship, and now that he's on the Road to WrestleMania 39, he is setting his sights on that prestigious championship again.

On the February 24 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Drew McIntyre appeared ringside during Imperium's match with Ricochet, Madcap Moss, & Braun Strowman and caught the attention of current WWE Intercontinental Champion, GUNTHER.

On the subsequent episode of the WWE SmackDown LowDown, Drew McIntyre didn't take very long to explain what he was doing ringside.

"Five weeks until WrestleMania. I want GUNTHER, and I want the Intercontinental Championship," he said.

Drew McIntyre first won the WWE Intercontinental Championship from John Morrison at WWE TLC in 2009 but never wrestled for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania. This year, he's looking to change that.

However, someone else who is looking to face GUNTHER at WrestleMania is Drew McIntyre's Banger Bros. tag team partner, Sheamus. Learn more here.
