Dustin Rhodes Announces He Will Require Two Knee Replacement Surgeries
Dustin Rhodes explains the damage that he needs to surgically repair.
Dustin Rhodes requires two knee replacements.
On last week’s edition of AEW Collision, Dustin Rhodes would lose the TNT Championship to Kyle Fletcher. During the course of the bout, Fletcher would brutally attack Rhodes with a screwdriver, at one point stabbing Rhodes in the leg with it.
In a new social media post on Tuesday, Dustin announced that the damage to his knees are so significant, that he needs two knee replacement surgeries and will go under the knife on August 21st.
Knees are both destroyed. I have to go under the knife August 21st. They can't actually fix the damage so we are getting 2 knee Replacements. Damn! #KeepSteppin

Immediately after his match with Fletcher last week, Rhodes announced that he would require ‘major invasive’ surgery. You can read more about that here.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that Dustin Rhodes would require double knee surgery this past weekend, and that he isn’t expected back this year. We should have an update on the timetable as things progress. Fightful Select also reported that AEW higher ups were very happy with Dustin’s match with Kyle Fletcher on Collision.
Rhodes’ TNT Title run kicked off in July at AEW All In Texas. He won the title in a four-way match after it was declared vacant following Adam Cole having to step away from the ring.
